Author Bio

Paldrom Catharine Collins is the author of Girl in a Box: Seeking Enlightenment as a Tibetan Buddhist Nun.

Raised in the Southern Baptist tradition, she left Christianity as a young woman in search of enlightenment. Her spiritual journey led her into the Tibetan Buddhist Vajrayana tradition, where she spent five years immersed in monastic life and retreat practice. Later, she spent fourteen years studying with Gangaji in the Advaita lineage of Ramana Maharshi.

Today, her work explores spiritual longing, devotion, disillusionment, and the unfolding experience of being human.

She writes and speaks about contemplative life, finding refuge in ordinary experience, and what remains when spiritual ideals encounter lived reality.

Paldrom serves on the board of directors of the Journey Center Association and completed its two-year spiritual director certification program.

Her writing has appeared in Inquiring Mind and Buddhadharma magazines. She lives with her husband in California's San Francisco Bay Area.
